Task Manager Log into the computer Control Alt Delete Choose Task Manager Click More Details in Bottom Left if needed Then Click on Start Up--Examine what "starts" up with your computer Right click to Disable any that are suspicious Then go find the suspicious items in your programs and delete You can also quit any process that is causing issues Click on the Processes tab Click on the offending item and in lower right, click End Task Create a backup drive and restore point Get a flashdrive with at least 32 gigs of space (must be blank) Use the search bar on your computer and type "recovery" click on Create a Restore point (may have to go to Recovery Options first) Follow directions--name the point something that makes sense, such as Windows 10 update Create restore points before you do anything major to your computer: install new software, download a questionable file, etc. That way, you can go back in time if needed. To make a back up, after your "recovery" search, choose, Create a recover disk. Follow the directions--Note: flashdrive needs to be in a USB port. |
